Whenever my roommate has sex while I’m home, I can’t help thinking — this is at least 75% to impress me. We have thin walls and she has a shaky loft, and both her and her boyfriend are theater people (read: LOUD NOISES).

(It’s hard to explain why I think she’s trying to impress me. Superficially, she just lost a bunch of weight over the summer and is dating this gorgeous but totally stupid/worthless guy — isn’t this just a recipe for “Look at me, I have a BOYFRIEND”?)

Okay, maybe the sex is only like 25% to impress me, but it’s at least 50% rude. I just started dating a guy and we’ve been going to his apartment to do the deed because his room is kind of off in its own little world and less likely to disturb people.
