i work at a small nature center in pa and am starting a blog to be linked to our main website (which i think is lacking). my goals for the blog are to provide our members and other visitors with more updated information, have educators write reviews of summer camp weeks or the adult day trips (with photos!) so that other members can read about great local places we visit, or how much fun the group had, re-cap our major fundraising events, etc. essentially, i’d like it to be something that gets updated more frequently than the website (or seasonal newsletter) and that i (or other staff members?) can add to anytime and from any computer, even if away or at home. we do have an older crowd, but on the flipside we have a lot of young families. i’m trying to give the center a kick in the right direction by getting more involved in all of the great communications technologies available today.

does anyone work somewhere that has a blog? if so, what are the best/worst sites for doing such (maybe an odd question, while using tumblr, but perhaps other blog sites are better suited to what i want to do)? it’ll have to be an independent site rather than just an extension of our existing webpage.
